Sensitive, present, aware, Serge-André Jones is first of all 'a one of a kind' man. This is the only box that he can check! He is then an artist that seeks happiness while developing his talents and delivering the best of himself and of the music that lives within him. Always presented in a special way, vibrant with emotions and hairraising surprises.
With a diploma from Laval university in piano performance (Francis Dubé), he works jointly in voice, clarinet and theatre. He participates in all kinds of shows: often as a concert pianist, as a piano accompanist ( The Théatres des Fantaisies Lyriques), as an actor (Troupe de théatre Les treize), as a choral singer or soloist.
All of the events in which he participates lead him to the creation of his proper artistic events where he can, without limits, let himself be free within the concept that he is developing, the piano variety show.
Everything starts with the series of concerts “de l’Instant” (of the Moment), home-concerts in an appartment in the St-Roch neighbourhood of Québec city. Since december 2003, he has been creating musical and festive evenings inviting known musicians and soon to be known musicians: Lyse Guérin, soprano (The Phantom of the Opera), Alain Baril, clarinetist (les Batinses), Julie Tanguay, violonist (OSQ), Julie Tremblay, soprano (Les Perce-Oreilles), Ève-Amélie Dufour, pianist.
From 2004 to 2006, he creates large scale piano variety shows : “Le pianiste est ses copains” (The Pianist and his Friends) (24 Nov.04, Chapelle Historique du Bon-Pasteur), “Le pianiste s’éclate” (The Pianist is out bounds) (20-21 mai 05, Théâtre Périscope), “Le pianiste s’éclate à nouveau”(The Pianist is out of Bounds…once again! (18 avril 06, Chapelle Historique du Bon-Pasteur). The concept for the show is as follows: solo or in ensemble, a range of cultural variety, touching, entertaining and humoristic acts centered on the piano. In this way, he can bring together pianists, singers, dancers, painters as well as do it all on his own. He has released 2 Cds as a result of these events.
In parallel with his activities as an artist of the stage, Serge-André Jones enjoys playing ambiance musique and also teaching piano. He is involved as well in different environmental and community associations. He enjoys gardening, cuisine, architecture, physical activity, interiour decorating philosophy and mathematics.
